Aeneas Internet & Telephone is located at 300 North Cumberland in historic downtown Jackson, Tennessee.

The tornadoes of 2003 completely destroyed Aeneas's downtown Church Street office, but leaving downtown was never an option. Downtown Jackson locates Aeneas Internet & Telephone on top of West Tennessee's "infrastructure hub" and downtown is also the geographic and cultural center of Jackson. Besides making good business sense, the renovation of the historic Aeneas Building gave Aeneas an opportunity to restore a piece of Jackson's architecture heritage and contribute back to the community. Our small efforts are just a single piece of larger downtown Jackson's revitalization.

Completed in 1916, the original structure was the home of Jackson's First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and replaced an earlier 19th century church of the same denomination. The facility was enlarged in 1966 under the supervision of architect Haywood Smith. In 1998 the building was abandoned to the elements, but after a construction process begun in 2003, it has been restored and updated for modern use. The two-story rear of the building is home to Aeneas Internet & Telephone, while the original church sanctuary know as "The Aeneas Building" is used for public events.

The restoration process kept intact the historic architecture and design of the building, while adding modern conveniences like catering amenities and developing the lovely outdoor courtyard, garden and balcony. The large 2900 sq ft space and eye-catching mix of classic grace and up to date modernity combined with the high tech elements of Aeneas Internet & Telephone make "The Aeneas Building" a truly unique example of architectural adaptive reuse.

Pictures of the entire construction process can be seen at the links below.
